She was predeceased by: her parents, Paul Turner and Marilyn Benjamin Turner; her son Thomas Smith; and her brother Steve Turner. She is survived by: her sons, Stephen Gates (Liz) of Richmond and Michael Gates (Cyndi) of Michigan; and her siblings, Cindy Melton of Richmond and Sam Turner (Connie) of Richmond. She is also survived by nine grandchildren.
