He was predeceased by: his parents, Aaron Albertus and Georgia Ann Hurt Thomas; his wife Bessie Chappell Thomas; his children, Betty Ann Skaggs and William "Billy" R. Thomas; and his brothers, JC, Paul, Charles, Cecil and Harold Thomas.
He is survived by: his daughters, Rosetta Murray, Vicki Morris (Jeff) and Sandy McCoy; his son-in-law Darrell Skaggs; his granddaughter Stephanie McCoy; and his siblings, Betty Turpin and Junior Thomas. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
