She was predeceased by: her parents, Carvell Hummel and Odessa "Dessie" Hummel; her husband Lester Maples; her daughter Carole Tanner; and her brothers, Freeman, Waymon, Carlos, Norman and James Hummel.
She is survived by: her sisters, Genell Jones and Susan Eversole; her children, Linda Wolski (Kris) of Richmond, IN., Lois Antley of Shelbyville, IN, John Maples (Debbie) of Martinsville, IN. and Janice Shaver (Mark) of Centerville, IN.; and her grandchildren, Madeline, McKeon Tanner, Krista Flood, Ron Shaffer, Jr., Wade, William, Wesley Baldwin, Emily Maples Davis, Johnny Maples, Danny, Chris and Steven Shaver. She is also survived by great-great grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and many friends.
