He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Batta and Janette Batta (McCain). He is survived by: his wife Tammira "Tammy" Mertens; his children, Stephen Batta (Tamara) of Illinois, Matthew Batta of Lafayette and Kyle Batta (Kelly) of Crawfordsville; and his siblings, Larry Batta of Lafayette, Marilyn King (Bob) of Lafayette, Teresa Riehle (John) of Lafayette, Jeff Batta (Jan) of Lafayette and Doug Batta of Lafayette. He is also survived by three grandchildren and cherished by many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, February 17th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Roscka Roth & Clapper Funeral Home - Monticello (6368 US-24, Monticello, IN 47960). A funeral service was held on Monday, February 17th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
