He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Streitmatter and Zura Ethel Streitmatter; his son Melvin Streitmatter; his grandsons, Samuel R. Streitmatter and Aaron Streitmatter; and his sisters, Lois Yaggie (Irvin), Edith Streitmatter and Joan Gutwein (Harvey).
He is survived by: his wife Marlene Torbet; his children, Marla Swafford (Doug) of Dayton, Ohio, Mark Streitmatter (Becky) of Rensselaer and Mike Streitmatter (Cheri) of Rensselaer; his daughter-in-law Julie Streitmatter of New Harmony, Indiana; and his brother Dale Streitmatter (Barb).
Memorials may be made to the Baptist Children's Home in Valparaiso, Indiana or to the charity of the donor's choice.
