He was predeceased by: his father Darold Gifford. He is survived by: his mother Elizabeth Gifford (Schafer); his wife Nancy L. Pearson; his children, Jennifer Widner (Timothy) of Rensselaer, IN and Gerald Gifford (Abby) of Lafayette, IN; and his sister Cheryl Querry of Rensselaer, IN.. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Oncology Department at Franciscan Health Rensselaer.
