She was predeceased by: her parents, Hargis Hopkins and Myrtle Allen; her children, Edward Lee Cotner and Daphne Meyer; and her former husband Toney Cotner Sr..
She is survived by: her husband John Smith of Rensselaer, IN; her children, Etta Marie Russell of Greenwood, Toney Cotner Jr. (Ida) of Rensselaer, Donita Cotner (James Lewis) of Rensselaer, Jodie Marino (Rich) of Las Vegas and Lorie Barber (Jarod) of Rensselaer; and her siblings, Silas "Pete" Hopkins of Rensselaer, Daisy Craft (Delbert) of Rensselaer and Beulah McEwen of Rensselaer. She is also survived by twenty grandchildren; twenty-four great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren.
The family has requested memorial contributions in the form of random acts of kindness and by "paying it forward" to your fellow human beings.
