He was predeceased by: his parents, John Milton and Emma Mae Michael (Lowman); and his wife Sally Michael. He is survived by: his sons, John Jeffery Michael (Cheryl) of Indianapolis and Gregory James Michael (Katie) of Rensselaer, Indiana; his grandchildren, Sarah Lorraine, Madelyn Louise, Emma Jean, Sophie, Jimi, John and Rowan Michael; and his sisters, Gayla Lee Tilton (Chuck) and Marcy Ann Busse (Bill).

“John and I were good friends in the 60's. We sang in a quartet with Thayer Tomlinson and Janice Merritt at the Christian Church on many occasions as well as church camp. I was in their wedding and what a loving couple they were. I can still remember the mobile home they first lived in on 114 going toward the airport. John and I saw the Beach Boys in concert at Indiana Beach in 62 (I think). What good memories from a long time ago.....you will be truly missed my old friend! (Jan) Scott Lucas”
