He was predeceased by: his parents, Carroll Godby and Delena Godby (Hall); his former wife Mary Godby (Karlson); and his brother Jim Godby. He is survived by: his children, John Laffoon (Sandy) and Jennifer Cameron (Dennis); his grandchild Kasandra White (Thomas); his children, Ericka Witek (Jeremiah), Matthew Olinger, Megan Eisele (Jeremy) and Nick Tornquist (Alexis); his great grandchildren, Payton White, Avalynn Delaney and Brynlie Desforges; and his stepchildren, Greg Dobson, Steve Dobson (Michelle) and Sheila Schroeder (Phil). He is also survived by seven step-grandchildren; and nine step-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Elara Caring Foundation or to the American Cancer Society, as John was a cancer survivor.
