He was predeceased by: his parents, Troy Bridges and Mary "Gladys" Bridges (Seay); and his wife Ellen Kimbrell. He is survived by: his granddaughters, Kelli Adkins (Craig) and Mandi Bridges; his great grandchildren, Gradin, Chevelle, Ava and Braxton; and his brother Donald Bridges (Martha) of Chesnee, S. C..

Memorial contributions in Elbert's name may be made to the Remington Baptist Church.
