He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Herman Alberts and Leila Alberts (Lilves); his brother Alvin Alberts; his former wife Barbara Moehring; his stepchildren, Arnetta Berenda (David) of West Lafayette, Dennis Alberts of Kentland, Thomas Alberts (Sheryl) of Richmond and Suzy Alberts (Paul Bauer) of Warren, Michigan.; his wife Peggy Robinette of Pikeville, Kentucky.; and his grandchildren, Stacy Hansen, Samantha Berenda, Brad Berenda, Brian Berenda, Shelli Stine, Chris Alberts, Heather Zetterberg, Erin Alberts Maglinte, John Shriner, Jessica Shriner, Melissa Valdis, Shannon Bauer and Jennifer Shriner-Brown.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Victorious Life Assembly of God Church or the Jasper County Fair Association (P.O. Box 375 Rensselaer, IN 47978).
