He was predeceased by: his father Mary Hiestand Childress. He is survived by: his children, Diane Childress Possing, Terry Childress Govostes (Steve), Brian Childress, Kyle Childress and Ashley Childress Bowler; and his stepsiblings, Norman D. Childress and Betty J. Childress. He is also survived by five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
