He was predeceased by: his parents, Renza Hurt and Fannie Hurt (Wingate); his son Dennis Hurt; his grandson Kevin Hazel; his siblings, Carl, Jim Hurt, Arlie Collins, Julia Ledbetter and Bullah Hurt; and his close friend Evelyne "Babe" McClure.
He is survived by: his daughters, Janice Hazel of Princeton, Jerri Daffron of Nebo, KY, Sheila Jones of Princeton and Jenny Parker of Kokomo; and his grandchildren, Doug Hazel of Newburgh, Billy Daffron of Owensboro, KY, Tina Alexander of Henderson, KY, Tracey Alexander of Henderson, KY, Alanna Tinsley (Driver) of Princeton, Robert Fuller of Florida and Jake Pebley of Kokomo. He is also survived by 14 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren.
