It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joseph D. Bates of Princeton, Indiana, who passed away on May 1, 2023, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John Bates and Wanda Bates (Gordon); his sister Bonnie Lance; and his siblings-in-law, Martha "Billie" Bates, Ron Caringer and Jerry Lance.
He is survived by: his wife Donna K. Pladis; his daughters, Sarah Bates (Matthew Raines) of Chicago, IL and Abbie Baer (Morgan) of Glen Carbon, IL; his sisters, Patricia O'Rourke (Tim) of Bedford, IN, Priscilla Caringer of Princeton, IN, Barbara Krieg (Dale) of Princeton, IN and Pamela Bates of Evansville, IN; his sister-in-law Maureen Brinski (Pladis) of Poplar Grove, IL; and his brothers, Robert "Bud" Bates, Edward Bates (Vikki) of Camden, SC, Jerry Bates of Hazelton, IN, Jeff Bates (Donna) of Patoka, IN, Tim Bates (Lana) of Princeton, IN and Tom Bates (Karen) of Saint Peters, MO. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
