He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Edward and Paulene McKinney (Parsons); his son Benjamin Cody McKinney; his brother James "Jimmy" Spears; and his grandmother Molly Parsons.
He is survived by: his wife Glenda Marlene McKinney (Sims) of Princeton, IN; his sisters, Marchetta Turpin (Howard) of Somerset, KY and Tonya Murphy (Jeff) of Waynesburg, KY; his great grandchild Hadley Claire Esarey; and also Cleo.
