He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene Schmit and Rosetta Schmit. He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Schmit (Anderson); his daughters, Becky Truxal (Mike) of Princeton and Debra Bruns (Jeff) of Western Spring, Illinois; his grandchildren, Josh Truxal (Kelsey), Jordyn Webber (Jason), Lucy and Sadie Bruns; and his great grandchildren, Daniel, Luke, Sarah Truxal, Josie and Jax Webber.
