He was predeceased by: his father Alvin Hardiman; his wife Phyllis Hardiman (Dixon); his daughters, Sherry Hardiman-Chavis, Pamela Sue Hardiman and Cynthia Copeland; and his brothers, Orville Hardiman and Marvin Hardiman, Sr..

He is survived by: his daughter Debbie Mellor (David); his sister Beulah Carter; his grandchildren, Kimberly Cuzzort (Todd), Courtney Hardiman-Dyson (Brian), Joshua Chavis (Leather), Robert Copeland (Luisa), Michael Copeland, Jerry Copeland and Taylor Mellor (Sarah); his great grandchildren, Bianca Hardiman, Ashlyn Cuzzort, Baylen Hardiman, Remini Chavis and Rozlynn Chavis; his great great grandchild Tinsley Hardiman; and his niece Valerie Young. He is also survived by cousins, nieces and nephews.
