He was predeceased by: his parents, Aaron Shaffer and Frances "Juanita" Heflin (Babb); his son Michael Shaffer; and his siblings, Mary Ann Schmitt and Kenneth Shaffer.
He is survived by: his wife Margaret Shaffer (Bruner) of Poseyville, IN; his daughters, Julie Schwindel (Randy) of Evansville, IN and Joy York (Lou) of Evansville, IN; his daughter-in-law Lisa Shaffer of Evansville, IN; his grandchildren, Jacob Schwindel, Laura Parker (Josh), Stephany McNeely, Hannah Laakman (Tim), Valerie Shaffer and Joseph Shaffer; and his great grandchildren, Ezekiel and Isaac Parker. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
