It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of William Thomas of Portland, Indiana, born in Surry, Virginia, who passed away on January 15, 2025, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. Though William may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those William touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his parents, William H. Thomas and Goldie Thomas (Napper); his former wife Betty Thomas; and his sons, Don and Brian Thomas.
He is survived by: his wife Bessie Thomas (Ramsey); and his children, Dale Irvin (Jayne), England, Tony Thomas (Stephanie), Dan Thomas (Cleo) and Randy Thomas (Scott). He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 24th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Williamson, Spencer and Penrod Funeral Homes - Portland Chapel (208 N Commerce St, Portland, IN 47371). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 25th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
