He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Gilbert Chittum and Louise Chittum (Dull); his wife Donna Meinerding; his children, Vince Chittum (Laura) of Bargersville, Patrick Chittum (Jenn) of Wauseon, Debbie Jackson (Doug) of Portland, Sixteen and Theresa Chittum; and his grandson Chris Jackson. He was also cherished by Sixteen grandchildren and Ten great grandchildren.
