He is survived by: his mother Amelia Serna (Varagas) of Mexico; his wife Maria Mendez; his children, Jesus Serna (Shannon) of Fort Recovery, Juan Serna Jr. of Portland, Jessica VanMatre (Brandon) of Valparaso and Ximena Serna of Portland, One; his siblings, Pedro, Maria Guadalupe, Maribel, Leticia, Flora, Nohemi and Priscilla; and his grandsons, Miguel VanMatre and Milo VanMatre.
