He is survived by: his wife Erma Stammen of Philothea; his daughters, Dr. Katherine Wellman (Larry) of Rockville, Ann LaFontaine (Steve) of Jasper, Lori Reece (David) of Albany and Mary Tobe (Elmer) of Fort Wayne; his sister Martha Hilgeford (Arnold) of Portland, Thirteen; his grandchildren, Alexander Wellman, Kristen Biesecker (Steve), Tyler Wellman, Nichol LaFontaine, Christopher LaFontaine, Amanda Williford (Matthew), Alexis Beaty (Eric), Gabrielle Wright (Patrick), Lauren Donovan (Harry), Hunter Tobe (Kaylyn), Taylor Tobe, Isabella Tobe and Ethan Tobe; and his great grandchildren, Reece, Mila Williford, Lorelai Beaty, Mason, Lucas Tobe, Iva Donovan and Jackson Gullett.
