He was predeceased by: his parents, Orville Wendel and Joann Wendel; his parents-in-law, Ivan and Ella Mae Barga; his brother Edward Wendel; and his nephew Jonathan Wendel.
He is survived by: his wife Christa Wendel (Barga); his sisters, Becky Timmerman (Mike), Nancy Moser (Scott), Jane Kaup (Kenneth) and Amy Durham (Steve); his sister-in-law Jackie Gerber; his brother Andy Wendel (Katy); and his in-laws, Gary Barga (Jane), Carol Petske (Steve), Janette Minch (Joe), Cynthia Linder (Bill) and Jerry Barga (Leigh Ann).
Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 23rd 2025 from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM and on Monday, February 24th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 9:45 AM at the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home (221 N S Meridian St, Portland, IN 47371). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, February 24th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church (506 E Walnut St, Portland, IN 47371).
