Shirley L. Gunter Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Shirley L. Gunter of Portage, Indiana, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 20, 2025 at the age of 82. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Shirley L. Gunter to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Warner Carter (Don Gunter) and Monette Carter (Bozarth) of Lake Station, IN; her daughter Donna Gunter; her daughter-in-law Peggy Gunter; and her siblings, Bernard Carter and Janie Lambert.
She is survived by: her husband Don Gunter; her children, Ronald (Ellen) of Conroe, TX, Richard of Wheatfield, IN and Deanna of Nashville, TN; and her siblings, Debra Carter of Lake Station, Susan Lewandowski of Chesterton, IN and David Carter. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, January 27th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel (5341 Central Ave, Portage, IN 46368). A funeral service was held on Monday, January 27th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Tuesday, January 28th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Tates Chapel Cemetery.
