Chester J. Ochwat Obituary
We are sad to announce that on November 12, 2024, at the age of 75, Chester J. Ochwat of Portage, Indiana, born in Chicago, Illinois passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Chester Ochwat and Rose Ochwat (Slowikowski); and his daughters, Dawn Rose Ochwat and Jennifer Marie Ochwat. He is survived by: his wife Carol; his daughter Jill Howell (Chad) of Portage; his grandchildren, Taylor Haws (Koleton), Kenneth Clasen, Kaitlynn Clasen, Nicholas Howell and Josephina Clasen; his great grandchildren, Piper Haws, Jaxon Haws and Baker Lee Clasen; and his pet Ruby.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 15th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel (600 W Old Ridge Rd, Hobart, IN 46342). A prayer was held on Saturday, November 16th 2024 at 9:30 AM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Saturday, November 16th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the St. Bridget Catholic Church (107 Main St, Hobart, IN 46342).
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be directed to the Hobart Humane Society in Butch's honor.
