It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Carol A. Chabes of Portage, Indiana, who passed away on April 18, 2025, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her father Dillard Reese; her husband Joseph Chabes of Luke's Catholic Church; and her brother Larry Reese. She is survived by: her mother Geneva Reese; her children, Michael J. Chabes (Elle), Diane Chabes and Janice Whittington (Joe); her grandsons, Luke Chabes, Wesley Whittington (Kayla) and Wyatt Whittington; and her great grandchildren, Asher, Aiden Whittington and Dawson Whittington. She is also survived by her children and grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, May 5th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel (5341 Central Ave, Portage, IN 46368). A memorial service will be held on Monday, May 5th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
