He was predeceased by: his grandson Josiah Figueroa; and his brother Benjamin Fontanez. He is survived by: his wife Minerva Cruz-Fontanez; his children, Johan Fontanez-Agosto (Miguel), Nilda Fontanez, Reinaldo Figueroa Jr. (Angelique), Johnny Figueroa, Nicole Risinger (Sean) and Melissa Fontanez (Chris Guerra); his grandchildren, Karina Fontanez, Michael Agosto, Stephanie Esguerra, Jose Vasquez, Zulimar Vasquez, Priscilla Vasquez, Reinaldo "Guerro" Figueroa III, Elijah Figueroa, Nehemiah Figueroa, Nicholas Figueroa, Brooklynn Figueroa, Noel Pineda, Leana Figueroa, Desirae Figueroa, Christian Risinger, Christopher Guerra and Nicholas Guerra; his great grandchildren, Darian Gross, Isabella Gross, Mateo Swann and Ariella Figueroa; and his siblings, Francisco Fontanez and Denise Fontanez-Ocasio.
