She was predeceased by: her parents, Eldon Carnes and Catherine Carnes (Starr); her children, Daniel Johnathon Sommer and Rebecca Ann Wadley; and her brother Paul Carnes.

She is survived by: her husband Rev. Daniel G. Sommer of Poneto; her children, Matthew David Sommer (Jan) of Ojai, CA and Mary Priscilla Sommer-Rosenthal (Joshua) of Melbourne, Australia.; her grandchildren, Luke Sommer, Caleb Sommer (Alyx), Rachel Sommer, Julian Sommer, Somer Neubert (Logan), Felicia Rosenthal and Lucius Rosenthal; and her great grandchildren, Emrys and Maddox Neubert.

Memorials may be made in Helen's memory to the Ponteo Baptist Church and can be directed to the funeral home.
