He is survived by : his wife Cherye Hoover Mitchell; his daughters, Heather Mitchell (Charlie) of Indianapolis and Shannon Mitchell (Joel) of Indianapolis; his stepchildren, Leah Wood (Chad) of California and Brian Smith of California; his brothers, Robert (Bobby) and Mitchell (Beth) of Kalamazoo, Michigan; and his grandchildren, Alex, Austin Mitchell, Peyton, Rylee Mitchell, Lyla and Luke McWhirter. He is also survived by three nieces and one nephew along with many extended family and friends.
