He was predeceased by: his parents, Marvin Downey, Sr. and Verla Mae Downey Dobrick; his wife Betty; his son Craig Downey; his brothers, Marvin Downey, Jr. and Duane Downey; his siblings-in-law, Patricia Downey and Glenn Hildebrandt; his niece Denise Downey; and his nephews, Michael Downey and Jeffery Didelot.
He is survived by: his children, Eric Downey (Yvette) and Leah Abendroth (Kirk); his daughter-in-law Tina Downey; his grandchildren, Adam Downey (Tamara), Evan Downey (Katie Walch), Kelcie Shoaf (Jeff), Kelsey Danz, Keaton Danz, Valerie Boswell (Brandon) and Mark Abendroth; and his siblings, Patricia Hildebrandt, Joy Didelot (Robert) and Keith Downey. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 10th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Deaton-Clemens Van Gilder Funeral Home (300 W Madison St, Plymouth, IN 46563). A funeral service was held on Friday, January 10th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
