He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Pontius and Blanche Pontius (Burket). He is survived by: his wife Wanda A. Gouker; his children, Sandra Cartwright (Jack) of Plymouth, Steven Pontius (Terri) of South Bend and Scott A. Pontius (Shellie) of Port Orange, FL; and his brothers, Donald Pontius of Birmingham, AL, Richard Pontius (Colleen) of Ft. Wayne, IN and Jim Pontius (Sandy) of Mishawaka.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to American Legion Post 189, Sons of the Legion.
