With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Phyllis J. (Filson) Bachtel (Plymouth, Indiana), who passed away on July 8, 2023 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert R. Filson and Hilda F. Filson (Hall); her husband Harold Bachtel; her sister Joy Krull; and her granddaughters, Amber Bachtel and Jennifer Young.
She is survived by: her children, Jane Woodring (Bill), Judy Young (Rex), Karen McCartney (Doug), Ken Bachtel (Michelle), Mike Bachtel, John Bachtel (Melissa) and Bob Bachtel (Judy); her grandchildren, Brian Tuttle (Heather), Melissa Hendrix (Kevin), Danielle Tomlin (Justin), Jason Brown (Jamie), Josh Brown, Leah Young, Adam McCartney (Andrea), Kristi Stanley (Kyle), Rachel Tiser (Bela), Kenny Bachtel (Alicia), Mitchell Bachtel, Aaron Bachtel (Dani), Austin Bachtel, Kendra Bachtel, Bryce Bachtel, Lilli Bachtel and Henry Bachtel (Nate Bachtel); her stepgrandchildren, Stacey, Chad, Steven and Stephanie; and her brothers, Bill Filson (Sue) and John Filson (Jan). She is also survived by nineteen great-grandchildren and ten step great-grandchildren.
