She was predeceased by: her parents, William "Bill" Sylvester Klos and Catherine Gertrude Klos (Ryan); her husband Joseph Francis Barnes, Jr.; and her brother William Klos. She is survived by: her children, James Barnes (Annette) of Geneva, IL, Joseph Barnes III (Rita) of Plymouth, IN, Judy Malouf (Neal) of Littleton, CO, Mary Castoria (Sam) of Bryan, TX and Margaret "Peggy" Jones of Winston-Salem, NC.. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be directed to KSB Hospital, 403 E 1st Street, Dixon, IL 61021.
