He is survived by: his children, Zachary Bixel of Indianapolis, Indiana, Symphony Bixel of Argos, Alexis Bixel (Joshua Jacobs) of Monticello, Indiana and Michael Bixel Jr. of Plymouth, Indiana; his grandchildren, Cyrus, Rowan, Kiler and Auana; and his siblings, Brenda Gilley of Warsaw, Indiana, Lisa Calhoun-Malone of Missouri and Brian Bixel of Georgia.
