He is survived by: his siblings, Philip, Barbara and Ruth; his daughter Kimberly Newberry; his grandchildren, Illana and Dakota of Cedar Lake, IN; his stepdaughter Lisa Bowdish (Scott); his stepgrandchildren, Tyler and Allison of Fennville, MI; his daughter Jennifer Lessentine (David); his grandchildren, Austin, Peyton and Skylynn of St. John, IN; his children, Johnathan Shafer (Julia) of Chicago, IL and Gretchen Tomich (Justin); his granddaughters, Sarah and Ella of Cedar Lake, IN; his brother David Shafer of Rochester, NY; and also Karma Murray.
