He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Maxwell and Elva Maxwell (Hodgin); his siblings, Wilson and Lucille; and his sons, Hugh and Mark.

He is survived by: his wife Lois; and his children, Howard (Patty), Randy Maxwell, Carolyn Moore, Jeanette Moore (Charlie), Mary Jones (Byron) and Amy Carpenter. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
