He was predeceased by: his parents, Duane Messmer and Evelyn Messmer; and his brothers, Douglas and John Messmer. He is survived by: his wife Sue Messmer; his children, Sarah Fletcher (Jasun), Liz Lewis (Kyle) and Andy Messmer (Lindsey); his sisters, Linda Selby (Mark) and Marianne Schell (David); and his stepsons, Dan Chojnowski (Kelly), Mike Chojnowski (Jennifer) and Jon Rohring (Liz). He is also survived by 13 grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 7th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Calvary Church (1290 S Center St, Plainfield, IN 46168). A celebration of life was held on Wednesday, January 8th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
