He was predeceased by: his parents, Morris A. Parsons, and Frances Parsons, Sr. (Gammill); his children, Linda Woodard and Donald Parsons; and his grandson Daniel Woodard.

He is survived by: his wife Carroll Parsons (George); his sons, Earl, Chuck Parsons (Tracie) of Plainfield and Mitch Parsons (Jennifer Christy) of Carmel; his grandchildren, Belle, Elisha, Edith, Bonnie, Jules, Violet, Josey Parsons, Amanda Thompson, Kevin, Adam Summers, Alexis Parsons, Olivia, Casey and Carly Christy; and his great grandchildren, Doug Wyneken and Kenny Gilliam.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be offered to the Boy Scouts of America or the University of Tennessee.
