He was predeceased by: his parents, Darwin Shurig and Edith Shurig (Smith). He is survived by: his wife Carol Meyer; his children, Susan Mary Shurig of Sahuarita, Arizona and Darwin Jay Shurig (Jamie) of Plainfield; his brother John Lewis Shurig (Rose) of Indianapolis; and his grandchildren, Blakeley Shurig, Cameron Shurig and Lakin Shurig.
