We are sad to announce that on January 29, 2021, at the age of 95, James V. Gilbert Sr. of Plainfield, Indiana, born in Noblesville, Indiana passed away. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of James V. Gilbert Sr. to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Vernie Gilbert and Gladys Gilbert (Davis); his wife Catherine Butts-Gilbert; his brothers, Paul Gilbert and Mark Carbin; and his grandson Jacob Gilbert.
He is survived by: his children, Katrina L. Williams (Kevin R.) and Rev. James V. Gilbert Jr. (Monaei); his sister Mary Elizabeth Humphrey; his grandchildren, Janese Gilbert-Rivers, Joshua, Jianna and Jaida Gilbert; and his great grandchildren, Zara and Zion Rivers.
Masks are required as well as social distancing at Plainfield Friends Meeting, which has a high vaulted ceiling and seats 460 (so plenty of space is available to skip every other pew for safety).
Therefore, in lieu of flowers, you can continue that spirit through our mission church in Texas which works with children Adversely Affected by incarceration while assisting our services for Jamie if you so desire.
