He was loved and cherished by many people including: his father Arthur Miles; his children, Plainfield, Mooresville, Tom Miles (Jennifer) and Becky Miles; his grandson Nathan Miles; his siblings, Don Miles (Mary Lou), Joe Brown, Gordon Brown (Donna), Kenny Brown (Sally) and Lynn Ellen Allen; his wife Vonda Miles (Strickland); his mother Beatrice Scotten Miles Brown (Scotten); his stepfather Orzo Brown; his son Samuel Miles; and his siblings, Phillip Brown, Sandra Brown and Marjorie Burris.
