It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dorothy A. Gummer of Plainfield, Indiana, born in Mount Horeb, Wisconsin, who passed away on October 21, 2022, at the age of 98, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Stanley Jacobson and Celia Gesme Jacobson; her husband William A. Gummer; her son Mark S. Gummer; her siblings, Lt. Donald Jacobson and Lois Kaplan; and her grandchild Morgan L. Gummer.

She is survived by: her sons, William S. Gummer, Donald J. Gummer (M. S.), Richard M. Gummer (Shirley), Steven Gummer and Jack L. Gummer; and her daughter-in-law Tobi Gummer.

“Dorothy and my family go back to the days of Louisville, KY. I just heard of her passing 11-5-22 and wanted her family to know how special I thought she was. Dorothy and my parents, Ralph and Phyllis Smith, were great friends through the years and I was fortunate to have Dottie go to Florida with me to settle my mom's estate. She will be missed and I will miss her feisty personality. I am so sorry I wasn't there to pay my respects. I definitely would have gone had I known.”
