He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Smith and Opal Smith; his brothers, Milburn and Melvin; his great grandchild Noah; and his stepdaughter Karen Meredith-Love.
He is survived by: his spouse Iramae Smith (Ray) of North Salem. He is also survived by his three daughters, seven grandchildren, and fifteen great-grandchildren.
