He was predeceased by: his sisters, Donna Powers and Gail Haas-McKinstry; and his grandson Kade Ryan Kirby. He is survived by: his wife Susan; his children, Erin Kirby (Anthony), Sarah Tuel and Charles Tuel (Jennifer); and his grandchildren, Kyle Kirby (Rachel), Kenna Kirby, Brayden Tuel, Jayson Tuel and Brody Tuel.
