With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Denise D. Mertes of Pittsboro, Indiana, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on May 26, 2024 at the age of 69. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her former husband Thomas Benefiel; her husband Danny Joe Mertes; her parents, Forest L. Ralya Jr. and Charmayne Latimer; and her sisters, Ann O'Neill and Theresa Nedderman.
She is survived by: her sister Sue Leigh (Mike). She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
