He was predeceased by: his mother Jeanie Brooks Linkel. He is survived by: his wife Denise Mertes (Ralya); his children, Jack Mertes (Laura) and Jeannette Smith; his siblings, Derek Linkel (Tabitha), Cathy Crane (David) and Rita Dempsey; his aunt Linda Griggs (Harry); his grandchildren, Rachel, Megan, Emily, Danny, Kaitlyn and Grace; and his great grandchild Camila. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews.
