It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James R. Yates of Pimento, Indiana, who passed away on January 6, 2025, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, James M. Yates and Mamie Frances Yates (Sparks); his wife Mary L. Yates; and his grandson Eddie McIntyre. He is survived by: his children, Donald E. Yates (Lu) of Lewis, IN, Marilyn Sue Lifford of Jasonville, IN, James M. "Jim" Yates (Trudie) of Lewis, IN and Kenneth L. Yates (Rhonda Banner) of Terre Haute, IN; his grandchildren, Andrea Duncan (Brad), Bobbi Wiscaver (Bill), Chris Yates (Glenda), Donna Nygren (Michael), Jeremy Yates, Billy Yates (Jacelyn Yates) and Kenneth Yates Jr. (Diamond); and his siblings, Ruth Halstead of Terre Haute, IN, Earl Yates (Heidi) of Farmersburg, IN and Charlie Lee Yates (Ruth Ann) of Jasonville, IN. He is also survived by great-grandchildren; 20 – great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 10th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Cox Funeral Home (218 S Meridian St, Jasonville, IN 47438). A funeral service was held on Friday, January 10th 2025 at 8:00 PM at the same location.
