He was predeceased by: his parents, Edgar Payne and Janie Sharpe Payne; his wife Ruth; and his brothers, Keith Payne (Helen) and Paul Payne (Doris).
He is survived by: his daughters, Connie Poleski (Mike), Kathie Drake (David) and Darla Gordon (John); and his grandchildren, Jim Poleski, Laura Murphy, Amber Limerick, Jeff Drake (Denise), Leslie Mallory (Andrew) and Scott Gordon. He is also survived by seven great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in honor of Jim to Union Baptist Church or Mt. Olive Cemetery Fund (mailed to DeBaun Funeral Home 85 E Springhill Drive, Terre Haute, IN 47802).
