He was predeceased by: his parents, Anna Mae Smith and Duncan; and his sister Karen Smith. He is survived by: his wife Victoria Smith; his children, Matthew Smith of Pierceton and Kimberly Smith of Pierceton; his granddaughter Gabby Gates of Wabash; and his sister Theresa Grosswiler of Pierceton. He is also survived by one niece and 2 nephews.
