He was predeceased by: his parents, Elbert Carpenter and Elizabeth Carpenter (Griggs); and his siblings, Edward Carpenter, Joseph Carpenter, Donald A. Carpenter, Nelda Hubler, Laverna West and Parthenia Carpenter. He is also survived by his numerous nieces and nephews.
